Expertly repairing damaged or infected teeth

Endodontics is a specialised dental procedure to repair the damaged inner soft tissue part of the tooth, also known as the pulp of the tooth. The pulp of a tooth is found inside the protective enamel and dentine layers of each tooth.

This soft tissue part contains multiple nerves and blood vessels within a system of canals located inside the roots of each tooth.

The inner soft tissue part of the tooth, or the pulp, can become damaged as a result of a large cavity, a large filling, or a fracture inside a tooth. This can result in bacteria entering the pulp and causing damage to, and the destruction of, the nerve and the blood supply to the tooth.

This can be extremely painful and, if left untreated, could result in an abscess, and the eventual loss of the tooth.

The root canal procedure explained

Root canal treatment is a common dental solution that addresses issues in the innermost layer of the tooth, the pulp.

The steps involved are:

1) The procedure begins with an assessment of the affected tooth's condition, followed by local anesthesia to numb the area around it.

2) A small hole is then drilled into the top of your tooth to reach its pulp chamber and root canals. Using specialized tools and techniques, our dentist removes any infected or damaged tissue from inside these passages before thoroughly cleaning them out with antiseptic solutions.

3) Finally, they fill up these hollow spaces using biocompatible materials before sealing off your tooth with a crown or filling for long-lasting protection against future damage or decay.

Despite its reputation as a painful process, modern advancements in dentistry have made this procedure quick and relatively comfortable for all patients who require it.

Depending on the severity of your case, root canal treatment may require the skills of our Specialist Endodontist.

High success rates

Endodontic treatment is very effective with a high success rate. After treatment, reconstruction may be required to help the tooth regain its strength; a new dental crown may, therefore, be recommended.

Saving a patient's tooth is always our first concern and priority at The Dental Gallery, before any other dental treatment is suggested. Our experienced dentists will always assess and consult with you first, to ensure that you are fully aware of the best treatment options available.

"I was referred to the Dental Gallery by my usual Dentist for a root canal procedure which was done by the specialist Endodontist, Dr Shahrzad Rahbaran. She was very knowledgeable and made me feel at ease throughout the procedure.

She also explained the follow up really well made sure that I knew how to take care of my tooth. She also advised that I would need a crown and this was done by Dr Roham Barez. He was also really knowledgeable and made sure that I understood the procedure, and how to take care of my tooth after.

We opted for an onlay so that I could preserve as much of my natural tooth where possible, and it was fitted well and a perfect match. You can’t even notice it’s there which is amazing and a testament to Dr Barez’s skills.

All of the staff at the surgery from the dentists to the nurses, assistants and receptionists were so kind and helpful. As a nervous patient it was a great experience. I’d definitely recommend this dental practice."

I’d definitely recommend this dental practice.""I've recently joined this practice and so far I've had nothing but an excellent five star service! The clinic itself is clean, safe and modern looking.

Being in Dr Rahbaran's hands, I felt completely safe and comfortable, and in the presence of a true master of her craft. Dr Barez was the consummate professional - patient, kind, caring and extremely knowledgeable.

It is also worth mentioning that all the staff were always accommodating, friendly and helpful. I've had a root canal and cavities fixed, and I couldn't be happier to find this clinic and highly recommend Dr Barez and his team! Thank you! "
