Fixed white braces are a popular alternative to metal braces and are just as effective but much less noticeable. Many people are very conscious about wearing braces that look unsightly, and so - leaving aside Smilelign clear aligners or Incognito lingual braces - fixed white brackets with a white arch wire may be the right, and more discrete, solution for you.
The small brackets used are made from a white ceramic material and, just as with fixed metal braces, are bonded directly to the front surface of the tooth. A tooth coloured wire is then used to join all the brackets together, to slowly move each individual tooth, with gentle pressure, into the desired position.
Fixed white braces take approximately 18 to 24 months to complete the treatment programme, but this varies according to the complexity of the case and the amount of adjustment required.
The advantage of fixed braces over removable braces is that your teeth can be straightened with greater precision. The brackets enable our skilled Specialist Orthodontist to adjust the position of each individual tooth, thereby achieving better end results.
Teenagers and adults are both suitable for treatment with fixed white braces. If you have gaps in your teeth, protruding or overcrowded teeth, crooked teeth, bite problems, or just want to improve your smile, we can help to align your teeth.
